Ivanka Trump called out “cancel culture” after her supposed commencement speech got canceled.

The first daughter was set to give a virtual graduation speech to Wichita State University Tech, an affiliate of Wichita State University in Kansas, on June 6. However, it was canceled amid the backlash over her father President Donald Trump’s response to George Floyd’s death.

However, the first daughter still posted the almost 10-minute virtual speech she prepared for the graduates on YouTube via The White House channel. She also spoke about the “cancel culture” when she shared the video on Twitter.

“Our nation’s campuses should be bastions of free speech. Cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination are antithetical to academia,” she wrote.

The speech that Ivanka prepared and the cancellation received mixed reaction from the netizens. Some were happy that Ivanka was replaced, with several saying they couldn’t imagine Ivanka delivering the message.

“The graduates deserve a better speaker. One who made it through life through their own hard work and ability to make intelligent decisions,” one commented.

“Who would ask her to give a commencement speech in the first place???????” another asked, wondering why Ivanka was asked to do the job.

“Good, it would’ve been a waste of time,” Bob Roberts opined.

Another user also asked why Ivanka’s speech was released through The White House channel on YouTube. According to Kristo K, Ivanka has no qualifications to work for the government.

“Spare us your empty, hollow words about how you've grown through moments of 'discomfort and uncertainty.' The level of ‘discomfort and uncertainty’ you've momentarily experienced is what ordinary people go through every single day. Resign from your position,” he commented on the YouTube video.

Meanwhile, others felt that the graduates missed a lovely message from Trump’s daughter. For them, Ivanka’s message was encouraging and loving.

“You are always so full of grace and poise, in everything you do and say. You’re such a great example, even when they spew nothing but vitriol at you. I am so very impressed with you and all of your family,” americanblonde9 wrote in support of Ivanka.

“Excellent, encouraging, positive, loving speech. So good. The graduates missed out and they don't know it,” Tom McEntee commented on the video shared on YouTube.
