Liv (Rose McIver) and Major (Robert Buckley) are going to be on complementary brains in Season 3, episode 2 of “iZombie.”

According to the synopsis for the hour, Liv, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) investigate what appears to be a car accident that killed a well-meaning father and his angsty daughter. But upon arrival at the scene, the trio suspects that there was foul play involved in the incident. Both starving, Liv and Major consume the brains of the victims.

As seen in the trailer for the episode, Major eats the brain of the 15-year-old girl, while Liv eats the brain of the girl’s 50-year-old regional bank manager father.

During the show’s panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January, Buckley recalled the moment when he first found out that he’s taking on the traits of a belligerent teenage girl this season.

“They had told me in the off-season, ‘We have a great episode for you. It’s perfect for you,’” Nerdist quoted Buckley as saying. “As an actor, that’s exciting, like is he going to be a cage fighter or a lothario? They were like, ‘No, for you, a … teenage girl.’”

“It wasn’t a stretch at all. That’s just who I am,” the 35-year-old actor joked. “But then to try and balance Major who is quite a dude bro, he’s a man, with a 14-year-old girl, like be super hot but also freezing cold at the same time, it’s very challenging. It’s not easy at all.”

Also in next week’s episode, Clive is brought in for questioning about Wally’s (Mataeo Mingo) family that was murdered at the end of the Season 3 premiere. Meanwhile, Peyton (Aly Michalka) shows interest in ending her disagreement with Ravi, and Major hits a road block in his search for Natalie (Brooke Lyons).

“iZombie” Season 3, episode 2, titled “Zombie Knows Best,” airs on Tuesday, April 11 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
