The CW’s “iZombie,” a crime dramedy about the before, middle and end (depending on the final episode) of the zombie apocalypse, comes to a close Thursday night with its series finale, and there’s still a lot that needs to be revealed and unpacked.

All of Season 5 has been leading up to an all-out war between the humans and zombies in Seattle, with a few outsiders (aka the main characters) not yet ready to give up the idea of peace or, even better, a zombie cure.

The series finale (Season 5, episode 13, titled “All’s Well That Ends Well”), which was directed by Jason Bloom and written by Thomas, airs on Thursday and sees the growing tension between the two races become too much for many to handle, and “the human versus zombie war finally comes to a head,” according to the synopsis.

Co-created by Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Rob Thomas, who are also executive producers on the series, along with Dan Etheridge, “iZombie” first premiered in March 2015 and stars Rose McIver (Liv), Rahul Kohli (Ravi), Malcolm Goodwin (Clive), Robert Buckley (Major), David Anders (Blaine), Aly Michalka (Peyton) and Bryce Hodgson (Don E) in its cast.

With only one episode ever of the show left to be released, what’s to come of all the characters fans have been rooting for (or against) for the past five seasons?

  • Will Major die while trying to get the Max Rager from inside Fillmore-Graves?
  • Will Blaine’s lackey kill Ravi once he’s back in Seattle? Will Blaine kill all of the kids with Freylich brains and, possibly, Peyton, too?
  • Will some fan-favorites get caught in the crossfire of the human-zombie war?
  • Will Ravi be able to whip up a cure fast enough to stop the chaos? Even if he does, will all the zombies want to be human again and willingly take the cure?
  • Will the government decide to simply kill everyone in Seattle with a nuclear bomb, after all? If that happens, what’s to come of the rest of the world since the audience knows there are zombies outside of Seattle now, too?
  • If Liv and Major both survive, will they finally be together?
  • If Ravi and Peyton both survive, will she make good on her promise to Liv and marry him?

There are so many questions for the “iZombie” series finale to answer, but, luckily, Thomas revealed to Variety that pretty much all of them will be by the time Season 5, episode 13 wraps up.

“There will be no cliffhangers,” the show’s co-creator told the outlet about the end of the show. “…It is in a lovely bow at the end of the season. We will answer all of the big, long-term arc questions. You’ll get answers to just about everything before the season ends.”

The “iZombie” series finale airs on The CW on Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT.
