‘iZombie’ Spoilers: Rose McIver, Rob Thomas Tease Jason Dohring’s Role In Season 3
Jason Dohring’s “iZombie” character is bringing some disorder to Fillmore Graves Enterprises in Season 3 of the CW series.
As revealed in October, Dohring was cast as Chase Graves in the rom-com-zom-dram series. Chase is part of the Fillmore Graves hierarchy and happens to be Vivian Stoll’s (Andrea Savage) brother-in-law. Although Chase and Vivian are technically family, executive producer Rob Thomas recently revealed that both characters don’t see eye-to-eye when it comes to running firm.
“There’s some internal politics there,” Thomas told TV Guide of Chase and Vivian’s relationship. “They may have different ways that they would run the company. He’s coming back from overseas and he throws a wrench in the dynamics of Fillmore Graves.”

Dohring was the latest “Veronica Mars” alum to join the cast of “iZombie.” Eddie Jemison (who played JC Borden in the movie), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas) and Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars) are among those who have previously appeared on the show. The voice of Kristen Bell, who played the title role on the teen noir mystery series, was also featured in an episode of “iZombie” last season.
“Every time Rob Thomas and [fellow executive producer] Diane [Ruggiero-Wright] bring back characters they’ve worked with before we know it’s because they really love the experience of working with those actors and, so it’s always a gift when they arrive on set,” “iZombie” lead actress Rose McIver told Nerdist. “[As for Jason’ role] Rob got some great ideas for his character. I can say it’s not something you’ve seen him do before, and you’ll be very interested, and Liv is still trying to wrap her head around quite where he fits in into the bigger picture.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Dohring will make his debut appearance as Chase in Season 3, episode 8, titled “Eat a Kinevel.” Interestingly, McIver told Yahoo TV that Liv’s new love interest will be introduced in the middle of the season. Could Chase be Liv’s new lover? Only time will tell.
“iZombie” Season 3, episode 1, titled “Heaven Just Got a Little Smoother,” premieres on Tuesday, April 4 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
