“Jack Ryan” Season 3 was announced back in February, but the production hasn’t started yet. The plot of the show may take a new direction with a new showrunner joining the TV series. The release date is expected to be sometime in 2021.

“Prison Break” TV series creator Paul Scheuring will be helming the next season of the action-packed spy drama at Amazon, The Wrap reported. The events in Season 2 have already teased the show taking a different direction, especially when it comes to the characters who will be with Jack (John Krasinski).

One major character who was noticeable missing in the second season was Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish). Jack got a new love interest who has the potential to return as a series regular.

Cathy is an important part of Jack’s life in the novels on which the show is based. However, the story in the TV series may not follow the events in the books and some of the characters may also be missing.

While it remains to be seen who Jack’s love interest will be in “Jack Ryan” Season 3, it appears that James Greer (Wendell Pierce) may also be leaving the CIA after the recent events, which means the character may no longer be relevant to the story.

More details about the cast may be revealed when the production begins. Since the TV series requires about a year of filming, the fans may have to wait until 2021 before the show returns with another season, Screen Rant reported.

While the fans wait for “Jack Ryan” Season 3 release date announcement, the show’s first 2 seasons are currently available on Amazon Prime Video. With a new showrunner onboard, and some of the major characters possibly exiting, it remains to be seen what the new story of the CIA analyst will be about.
