Jack White, Carrie Underwood And The Lumineers Join Rihanna, Mumford & Sons As 2013 Grammys Performers
The list of amazing musical talent that will perform at the 2013 Grammys has gotten even better. With earlier announcements of Rihanna and the Black Keys, the Grammys announced that nominees Jack White, Carrie Underwood and the Lumineers will perform at the awards ceremony.
The Grammy Awards announced on Thursday that Jack White, nominated for three Grammys, including Album of the Year, the Lumineers, nominated for two Grammys, and Carrie Underwood, nominated for two Grammys, will perform at the awards show.
Earlier, Rihanna and Taylor Swift were announced as a performer, but there are several other impressive performances lined up for the 2013 awards show.
The Grammys will also play host to several special musical pairings. Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert will perform together at the Grammys, but perhaps the most intriguing one is Elton John joining Ed Sheeran to perform for the first time ever on music’s biggest night. Sheeran previously had a high-profile duet with Swift, who he will support on her 2013 “Red” tour, and this performance will surely raise his profile and win plenty of new fans.
Swift, Rihanna and Underwood also performed at last year’s Grammy Awards.
Four of the five nominees for Best Album of the Year will be performing at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. White, Fun, Mumford & Sons and the Black Keys have all be announced to play the show. The only nominee missing is Frank Ocean. The same thing was true last year as Rihanna, Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars performed, but Lady Gaga did not.
Expect more Grammy performer announcements in the near future. Musical segments, such as last year’s electronic segment featuring David Guetta, deadmau5 and Chris Brown, may also be announced shortly.
The Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. EST.
