Jada Pinkett Smith Doesn’t Miss Jaden, Willow After Kids Moved Out
“Gotham” actress Jada Pinkett Smith has spoken candidly about her life after Jaden and Willow moved out of their family home. Interestingly, Will Smith’s wife appears to be at a happy place right now, so she doesn’t really miss the presence of their teenage kids.
Opening up to Haute Living on Wednesday, the 45-year-old actress-singer said that she does not have the time to miss her son and daughter. “It’s funny they’re not around, but they are! I don’t even have time to miss them,” she said. Explaining what she really meant by this, Jada said, “Willow loves to call me every day, and even Jaden, when he’s away on set, still needs to see Will and I when he gets homesick.”
At present, 16-year-old Willow is busy with her blossoming music career, which has made her a globetrotter. On the other hand, 18-year-old Jaden is staying in Toronto since he is filming his upcoming movie, “Life in a Year.” Apart from their work in the entertainment industry, both teens also have working engagements in fashion. Jaden has a campaign for Louis Vuitton, while Willow is a Chanel ambassador, as pointed out by Us Weekly.

Aside from having constant communication with her kids, another reason why Jada is not bothered by Jaden and Willow’s absence from their home is because she’s also preoccupied with work. She has an upcoming movie with good friend Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish and Regina Hall. Entitled “Girls Trip,” the movie tells a story about friends going on a trip to New Orleans after Jada’s character Lisa went through a divorce.
Speaking about what sets her new role apart from the ones she’s done in “Magic Mike XXL” and “Gotham,” Jada said, “Lisa is certainly less dominant than my characters in the past. But I took the role because it was a comedy, and I’m always looking to challenge myself in different roles and different aspects of a role.”
“The film is really just fun. And it’s about women taking control of their lives in a way that they see best for themselves,” Jada said when she described her new project, which is being tagged as a combination of “The Hangover” and “Bridesmaids.” “It’s about girls getting together and having a good old time, and I think women need that just as much as men. It’s definitely a movie where I think women can feel that it’s okay again to cut loose.”
“Girls Trip” is scheduled for release on July 21.
