There’s still two weeks left in the 2021 NFL season, but the Jacksonville Jaguars are going full steam ahead in their head coaching search. The team is lining up interviews with several candidates, including assistants of teams headed for the playoffs and former Super Bowl-winning head coaches.

Jacksonville has requested permission to interview both Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday. The Jaguars have reportedly done the same for Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

Both Dallas and Tampa Bay have already clinched division championships.

Moore, 33, has never been a head coach and was in the league as a quarterback as late as 2017. Leftwich was Jacksonville’s quarterback from 2003-2006 and has been an NFL assistant for the last five seasons.

Bowles missed the playoffs every year as the New York Jets head coach from 2015-2018. Quinn took the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl in the 2016 season and lasted five and a half seasons as their head coach.

Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus is expected to be interviewed by the Jaguars. Indianapolis enters Week 17 as the AFC’s No. 5 seed and an overwhelming favorite to make the playoffs.

The Jaguars are interested in interviewing Doug Pederson and Jim Caldwell, according to NFL Network. Pederson led the Philadelphia Eagles to their first-ever Super Bowl title just four years ago. Caldwell was the Colts head coach when they reached the Super Bowl in the 2009 season, and he had a 36-28 record as the Detroit Lions head coach from 2014-2017.

Jacksonville fired Urban Meyer after a 2-11 start this season.
