Jake Paul Thumbs Down Tyron Woodley Rematch, Sets Sights On Another UFC Star
KEY POINTS
- Jake Paul formally closes the possibility of facing Tyron Woodley again
- Paul faces the first legitimate boxer on December 18
- Paul is open to facing Nate Diaz after his fight with Tommy Fury
Jake Paul is busy preparing for his fight against Tommy Fury fight in December, and there is no official word on who may be next in line.
However, it appears that one potential opponent who felt he could do better in a rematch has just been scratched off the list.
Paul slammed the door on Tyron Woodley, despite the former UFC welterweight champion holding up his end of the deal--a side bet tied to their August 29 encounter.
Woodley lost and thus had to pay the debt. He did so, having a tattoo etched on the side of his middle finger with the phrase: “I love Jake Paul.”
"I don't think people really wanna see Tyron vs Jake Paul again," the YouTuber said in an interview with TMZ. "He had his chance."
For now, his focus is on the younger brother of boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
"Definitely the toughest guy, but I'm coming for his head," Jake stated. "He has a lot a lot to deal with and he chose the wrong time to fight me because I'm not playing around this time."
Looking beyond Fury, Paul appears to have someone in mind in the person of Nathan Diaz.
He sounded interested in taking on Diaz, who is ironically on the tail-end of his deal with the UFC.
“Yeah, for sure [I’d fight Diaz]. I’m going to beat him up into a pulp, no problem,” the 24-year-old stressed.
