Jake Paul is a famous social media personality, actor and comedian, and now he has added "undefeated boxer" to his list of achievements.
The younger half of the famous Paul brothers has been making headlines as a budding boxer. On Saturday, the Youtube star faced off with former UFC fighter and ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren in a licensed boxing match inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Only the third fight in his young professional boxing career, Paul predicted a first-round knockout of Askren, who in his 12-year MMA career was never known for his striking. And Paul stuck to his word -- the referee called a stoppage at 1:59 in the first round after Paul threw a straight right hand that hit Askren square in the face, throwing him into the canvas.
Now with a 3-0 record, Paul took home $690,000 for the fight. As for Akren, the MMA fighter will make an official fight purse of $500,000, CBS Sports noted.
Paul shot to fame through the social media platform Vine in 2013. When it shut down in 2017, he joined the Disney show "Bizaardvark." He was fired after two seasons following several controversies.
He continued his social media presence on Youtube where he currently has 20.3 million subscribers. Jake is the younger brother of Logan Paul, also a famous Youtuber who currently has 22.9 million subscribers.
In 2018, Forbes reported that Jake earned $21.5 million from his videos and gags, landing him the second spot in the Highest-Paid YouTube Stars 2018 list. Logan was ranked 10th, earning $14.5 million.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the young boxer is worth $20 million. As for Askren, he is currently worth $500,000.
Paul started his boxing career in January 2020, facing another Youtuber, AnEsonGib. He then faced ex-NBA star Nate Robinson in November. He won both matches by TKO.
