Influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul recently went head-to-head with former UFC champion Tyron Woodley. The 24-year-old social media personality won the fight via split decision, but how much did each of the boxers make from the fight purse?

While the exact amount of money that each fighter took home from their match was not revealed, it was estimated that the fight purse totaled about $1.5 million. Paul was given an estimated $1 million, which would double after counting pay-per-view revenue. On the other hand, Woodley was estimated to receive $500,000, doubling to $1 million after pay-per-view figures, Sporting Free reported.

But Paul will not be taking home all of his winnings after he announced that he would take a pay cut. His decision was to give a share of his fight earnings to undercard fights who would be paid more than they’ve ever earned from a fight before. Paul said that even Woodley would benefit from his pay cut.

Paul has continued to keep his undefeated streak after winning his fourth match, which was against Woodley. His third fight was with former MMA fighter Ben Askren earlier this year. The young star reportedly earned $690,000 from that match while Askren took home $500,000, as per CNET.

The social media personality’s winnings only added to his already lucrative $30 million net worth. The majority of his wealth came from being a creator on YouTube, where he reportedly earns at least $10 million and up to $20 million annually, Celebrity Net Worth reported.

In 2017, Paul launched Team 10, a digital influencer marketing platform and creative agency that focused on creating and promoting entertainment for teenagers. His big break came when he released a song and music video titled “It’s Everyday Bro,” which went on to get 70 million views within a month.

In that same year, the YouTuber earned a total of $11 million and he nearly doubled that amount when he got $21.5 million in 2018. Paul’s earnings were enough to net him the title of second highest-paid YouTube star in the world.
