  • Jameela Jamil said no one wants to hear Kim Kardashian's thoughts on success and work ethics because she grew up privileged
  • Twitter users have mixed opinions on Kardashian's business advice, with some agreeing with Jamil and others defending her
  • In a recent interview, Kardashian urged women to work, saying that nobody wants to exert effort these days

Jameela Jamil shaded Kim Kardashian after the latter gave unsolicited advice about business and work ethics.

Jamil quote-tweeted a post from Variety featuring Kardashian's business advice for women. The "Shame" author was not convinced of the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star's statement.

"I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion… nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic," Jamil wrote. "This same 24 hours in the day s--t is a nightmare. 99.9% of the world grew up with a VERY different 24 hours."

Several netizens agreed with the "I Weigh" podcast host. They felt that, unlike most people, Kardashian had an advantage because she didn't start from scratch, so she was being tone-deaf with her advice.

"Because KIM being the one to say it is very tone-deaf. Of course, Kim Kardashian worked hard, but did she start from the same position that 99.9% of working-class people do? No. So to say 'just get up and work' denotes an appalling lack of self-awareness/compassion; in my opinion," one commented.

"It's easier to focus on business tasks when you have someone manning your kids, cooking your family food, cleaning your house, running your errands, etc.," another added.

Meanwhile, some also defended Kardashian from Jamil and her other critics. For them, the Skims founder worked hard to be where she is today.

"I actually agree with her. Yes, she was privileged but she worked for everything she has. People seem to write of people who grew up in the money with no work ethic, but just because her parents had money doesn't mean she didn't work hard for what she has!" one Kardashian supporter wrote.

"Why is a message to work hard so controversial? Who cares where and what you came from? Why can't you still work to further yourself or your career or your passion?" another added, questioning those who reacted negatively to Kardashian's advice.

Kardashian recently spoke with Variety about her and her family's upcoming reality show, "The Kardashians," on Hulu. She was joined by her sisters Kourtney and Khloe and their mom, Kris Jenner, on the magazine's cover. During the interview, they were asked about being media moguls with business empires. Kardashian took it as an opportunity to share her business advice.

"I have the best advice for women in business," the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alum told the outlet. "Get your f--king a-- up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days."
