James Charles Brings Out 'Realness' From Kylie Jenner During Makeover

Reality star Kylie Jenner and famed makeup artist James Charles collaborated to create a Halloween makeup tutorial video that posted Tuesday on YouTube. In the process, some truth about Jenner came out.

Charles often has celebrities on this YouTube channel. The 21-year-old not only does their makeup but talks about things going on in the world or in their lives.

Jenner opened up to him about how she’s been feeling.

“I think that I showed my true personality for so long ago on Vine and Instagram, but as I got bigger and bigger, I realized... when people used to say really mean things about how I really am, my personality and what I love the most about myself, it would hurt me more than almost playing a character," she said.

She also explained how not being able to completely be herself on camera and on social media makes her “sad.” Her followers want her to be authentic, but sometimes, that’s not good enough for them.

In the midst of all the fame, her feelings have been bottled up and never really talked about before this video. Charles was right there behind her, hyping her up and telling his viewers about the Jenner he personally knows.

He explained to viewers that Jenner’s real personality is full of wit and that whenever she walks into a room, she’s instantly spitting out jokes and is nice to everyone around her.

Jenner went on to thank Charles for his kind words and said, “Even for you to say ‘you’re always so funny,’ that’s a bigger compliment to me than if you already knew...that’s something that’s sacred.”

As Charles was finishing up her Halloween makeup, Jenner expressed how she wanted to get into YouTube more and do what makes her happy. The 23-year-old even gave a hint at wanting more children in the future, according to E! Online.
