James Corden Says Tom Cruise Would Beat Justin Bieber In Fight, Singer Gets 'Frustrated'
James Corden “frustrated” Justin Bieber after insisting that the singer couldn’t beat Tom Cruise in a fight.
The conversation began as Bieber rode alongside the talk show host for his “Carpool Karaoke” segment. After some hilarious seated-choreography for Bieber’s single “Yummy,” Corden asked the 25-year-old why he shared a tweet challenging Cruise to a fight in 2019.
"I don't know. I was just being stupid, to be honest," Bieber explained. "[But] then people were like, 'I wanna see this happen.' And I was like, 'You know what? That could actually be funny."
However, Corden disagreed, saying that he didn’t think the experience would be very enjoyable on Bieber’s end.
“I think if me and you have a fight, you’d win,” Corden replied. “I think if you and TomCruise have a fight, I’d bank Tom every day of the week.”
The “Intentions” singer was in firm disagreement and stated, “absolutely not.”
“See I try not to let my ego get in the way, but there’s absolutely no way,” Bieber said.”He’s not the guy you see in movies. He’s not. That’s a character.”
They then debated whether being in “phenomenal shape” equates to being a “good fighter.”
“I start to get frustrated,” Bieber said jokingly before grabbing Corden’s sleeve. “You're really boiling me up!"
Corden encouraged him saying he’d be a better fighting opponent for the singer than Cruise.
"Work your way up to Tom Cruise. Fight me, and then, like, Zach Braff, and then you do Tom Cruise,” he teased.
However, Bieber insisted he’s ready for Cruise now.
"I'm dangerous!" Bieber declared causing Corden to burst out in laughter. "My agility is insane... I don't think you understand the mind control that I have! My mind control is another specimen. I'm different. I'm the Conor McGregor of entertainment!"
The two ended the debate by pulling over and having an arm-wrestling match. Although Bieber won, Corden said he was changing his position.
The segment continued with the car duo singing along to some of Bieber’s hits like “Love Yourself" and “Intentions.” As a result, the star revealed that he unexpectedly sang at his and wife Hailey Baldwin’s wedding.
“You’re not ‘one less lonely girl,’ you’re the last lonely girl,” he explained referencing the 2009 hit that he performed on their special day in 2018.
When Bieber’s not prepping for his big fight with Cruise, he spends a lot of his time at home watching shows like “Friends” and eating with Hailey.
"Being married is the best thing that ever happened to me," Bieber told Corden. "She's extraordinary."
Bieber will be "hanging out" with Corden all week on "The Late Late Show" following the release of his album "Changes."
