Talk show host James Corden recently spoke about his decision to make an active attempt to lose weight and added how this journey is different for men.

Corden, who joined Oprah Winfrey as she hosted WW's (also known as Weight Watchers) "Your Life In Focus" event Saturday, said, "I do think as a man it's historically seen as it isn't very sexy to say that you're on a diet. Or it's not very manly somehow to want to make changes in your own health because men drink beer and we go out and it doesn't matter what you look like, all those things," in the episode titled "Be The Love You Need."

The 42-year-old “The Late Late Show” host had partnered with WW for his weight loss.

"I think it's the single most positive and sexy thing you can do to say 'I would like to be a bit healthier'," he added.

Corden further shared the importance of seeking help when it is needed. The "Carpool Karaoke" host encouraged everyone to speak up about their struggles with people and be honest about their feelings, USA Today reported.

He also acknowledged that there are many people out there who are willing to help you with the challenges. He praised his wife Julia Carey for being supportive throughout his transformative journey, which helped him to lose 16 pounds in the last five weeks.

“My wife has been incredible with this. With my whole journey with food, she's been really, really amazing with me, and I've really found this past five weeks that I’m on a start of a journey that I’m determined to finish, and I feel that I can,” the talk show host said.

“As soon as you open yourself up to people and say, 'This is how I'm feeling and I think I might be struggling with this,' you will be met with a wave of people going, 'How can I help?'” he added.

Winfrey also chimed in to share her take on self-love with Corden, who started off his 2021 with a vow to become healthier.

“Realizing that you are worthy of putting yourself back on your list is a profound expression of being the love you need," she said.

Winfrey, 67, noted the word "love" is similar to "wellness." However, she admitted that it means different to different people.

"There's so much emphasis on the love that other people can bring to you, to us, that we often forget that the central key to even bringing love into your life is being the love you want to bring,” she added.

"The Color Purple" star spoke about WW factors and explained it helps to treat ourselves with compassion and create "reverence", which is a powerful thing.

The virtual event also featured other celebrity guests including Kym Whitley, Ciara, and Jennifer Garner. Garner offered some help by sharing how gentle she is on herself when things get overwhelming.
