James Franco Part Of ‘Alien: Covenant’ Cast? Find Out When You Can Watch A New ‘Prometheus 2’ Sneak Peek [VIDEO]
Michael Fassbender isn’t the only A-list Hollywood actor set to appear in Ridely Scott’s highly anticipated “Alien: Covenant,” a sequel to the hit movie, “Prometheus.” It turns out that “Spiderman” actor James Franco is also a part of the star-studded cast.
On Tuesday, the official Twitter account of “Alien: Covenant” shared a photo of the cast and crew of the film. Franco is clearly seen in the center wearing a Covenant crew member t-shirt. Rumors suggested that the Oscar nominee was a part of the cast, but it is only now that we have official confirmation of this rumor.
Apart from Fassbender and Franco, the cast of the sci-fi movie also includes Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.
Although an official trailer for “Prometheus 2” has been released online, an exclusive sneak peek video is set to air during Wednesday’s episode of FX’s “Legion” at 10 p.m. EST. The video, which will air on Feb. 22, will provide more spoilers about the plot of the action-packed movie.
In “Alien: Covenant,” a colony ship named Covenant travels to a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. The crew hopes to explore an unchartered paradise. But once they head out to discover the wonders of this unknown planet, it quickly becomes clear that dark and dangerous things are hiding beneath its beautiful surface.
Much like “Prometheus,” the crew of Covenant finds themselves in grave danger and not everyone is going to make it out alive. The crew also discovers that an android named David (Fassbender) is the sole inhabitant of the mysterious planet.
Fassbender also plays another android named Walter. He is a robot designed to help the Covenant crew.
Katherine Waterston stars as Daniels and Noomi Rapace reprises her role as Elizabeth Shaw, the woman who almost gave birth to an alien in the first film.
“Alien: Covenant” hits theatres on May 19.
