Jamie Dornan, who shares a decades-old friendship with Robert Pattinson, opened up about the "pity invite" Pattinson claimed he used to receive.

The 39-year-old actor explained that Pattinson was way more successful than him and his friends right after "Twilight" became a hit.

"The pity invite? No," Dornan told ET Monday. "I think with Rob it’s always been like, he sort of had success earlier, so we were a bit like, ‘Does he really fit in with us?’ Because we were not working, and he’s working all the time. He did ‘Twilight’ and was suddenly in a different stratosphere than us."

The "50 Shades of Gray" star noted that they haven't "caught up" in a while. "We’ve sort of, not caught up, but we all started working more consistently, but yeah, Jesus, we’ve known each other a long time," he added.

Dornan's comments came after Pattinson during "The Batman" premiere on March 1 said that he was the last one to receive an invitation whenever there was a plan.

"They were all roommates, and I was kind of the last one invited," Pattinson said. "I was invited as an afterthought. There’d be like one slice of pizza left and I’d be like, ‘Is there any for me?'"

In a separate interview, Dornan noted that Pattinson was the "good-looking" one in their group because of which they never left him home.

"We never left him at home. Why would you leave him at home? He was the good-looking one," Dornan told Access Hollywood. He got us all in. He got us all the attention. He was too successful for us early on."

Pattinson rose to fame with "The Twilight Saga" movie series released from 2008 to 2012. Dornan, on the other hand, got success with the erotic romantic drama movie, "Fifty Shades of Grey," which was dropped in 2015.

Pattinson recently appeared in "The Batman" movie, which was released on March 4. Whereas, Dornan appeared in the TV miniseries, "The Tourist" released on Jan. 1 and is currently filming, "Heart of Stone" with actress Gal Gadot.

Considering Pattinson's upcoming movies, nothing has been officially announced yet. However, earlier this month, the actor said he is willing to work in the "Dune" sequel.
