Jana Duggar, Tim Tebow Dating Rumors Resurface; Ben Seewald Says Athlete Would Be ‘Great Addition’ To Duggar Family

Reality TV's Duggar family has denied that eldest daughter Jana Duggar is dating former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, but a newer member of the “19 Kids and Counting” clan has reignited rumors of their courtship. According to Jana’s brother-in-law Ben Seewald -- he married Jessa Duggar, 22, in November -- Tebow could easily fit into Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s large brood.

“He’d be a great addition to the family,” Ben, 19, reportedly joked to People magazine of the athlete who is rumored to be dating Jana, 25.

While Tebow’s rep has said that his client has never even met the TLC reality star, Ben revealed he is hopeful Jana and Tebow, 27, could one day connect. “Ben, for one, isn’t giving up the possibility the two could meet, hit it off and go down the courting path,” People magazine reported.

Ben also said he is hopeful Jana would court Tebow not just to gain another potential brother-in-law, but to have a new player on his family football team. “Having a former quarterback in the family would be a great advantage to the occasional football game between teams in the Duggar clan, Ben says,” claimed People.

“I’d definitely have him on my team. We’d win every time,” Ben said with a laugh.

While the magazine made it seem as if Ben was merely teasing about Tebow courting his sister-in-law, rumors have swirled about a courtship between the two devout Christians in recent months. In December, Star magazine reported that Michelle and Jim Bob had met Tebow’s mother, Pam, at a fundraiser near their home in Tontitown, Arkansas. The trio did meet and pose for a photo, and the glossy published claims that Jim Bob was hopeful the athlete might court Jana.

“Jim Bob is no dummy,” a source told Star. “Tim would be a perfect addition to the family and a feather in his cap. Can you imagine the press a Tim-Jana wedding would get?”

In response to Star's original report about Jana's dating life and follow-up claims that her 28-year-old cousin and "19 Kids and Counting” co-star Amy Duggar was interested in Tebow, Amy addressed the dating rumors on social media in December. “Looks like the tabloids are at it again,” she said of Star’s report that she had her eye on Tebow. “Jana and I laughed so hard about this, we’ve never even met Tim Tebow. #allsmilesnodrama.”

“19 Kids and Counting” is in its ninth season. New episodes air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
