Jana Kramer Details 'Strange' Run-In With Ex Mike Caussin While Out With Jay Cutler

Jana Kramer has recalled a strange encounter she had with ex-husband Mike Caussin while out on a date with rumored boyfriend, Jay Cutler.

In a recent episode of her iHeartRadio “Whine Down” podcast, Kramer revealed the run-in happened on Sept. 8 evening, when she attended The Twelve Thirty Club restaurant and bar, and was photographed with Cutler for the first time. Kramer said romance rumors quickly surfaced after she and Cutler were photographed together that day, but what the cameras didn’t capture was how she and Caussin ran into each other that evening.

“You know what’s really messed up? My ex was there the same night and the photographer tried to get a picture with all three of us, and I was like ‘No, no, no, no, no, nice try,” she said. “And everyone kind of started laughing, but I was like, ‘Not happening,’” she added.

As she hung out in the same room with both her ex and her rumored new flame, Kramer admitted it was hard for her to see her ex be single. “I would say that was really hard to see him there… see him flirt with other girls,” the “One Tree Hill” alum said. “I mean, granted, I was there as well doing my thing, but it was really hard. You know what was hard? It looked so easy for him.”

Kramer also revealed it didn’t look like Caussin was bothered or hurt at all by her and Cutler’s presence, and she didn’t like it. “He’s just untamed and uncaged and he’s happy,” she said. She added, however, she got a chance to talk to him at the event and she described their exchange as “strange.”

“I was like, ‘This is awkward,’ and he’s like, ‘Not at all,’” she said. “And I was like, ‘ugh, ok.’ I’m glad that he was fine but at the same time, I talked to my therapist about it and just a little piece of me was like, it would’ve been nice for him to be like, ‘Yeah, this is hard, but I’m glad we can be cordial.’ Just acknowledgment that it might hurt a little bit,” she continued.

Kramer announced in April that she and Caussin were parting ways after six years of marriage. They share two kids, Jolie, 5, and Jace, 2.
