Jana Kramer Talks Jay Cutler Romance, Why She's 'Scared' To Open Up About Dating Life

Jana Kramer is getting candid about her brief romance with Jay Cutler.

The country singer, 38, was romantically linked to Culter, 38, earlier this year following her split from her ex-husband Mike Caussin. The former couple was spotted spending time together on a few dates, but their romance was short-lived.

During the Thursday episode of her "Whine Down" podcast, Kramer revealed that while she did go on dates with Cutler, she has not been in any "exclusive" relationships since her divorce.

"Just because I went on a date with someone doesn’t mean we’re exclusive and he’s my boyfriend. He was never my boyfriend," she was quoted by Us Weekly as saying of Cutler.

Kramer also explained why she chose not to divulge too much about that time in her life.

"I get scared to want to talk about my dating life because I’ve been so fooled that I’m terrified to be fooled again," she said. "Obviously the whole Jay stuff, that became public because we went out and he was a very public person so obviously that came out, but I never spoke on it because I didn’t know what it was."

The "One Tree Hill" alum and Cutler first sparked dating rumors in September, months after Kramer filed for divorce from Caussin, 34, after nearly six years of marriage. Cutler, for his part, parted ways with Kristin Cavallari in April last year after seven years of marriage.

Cutler and Kramer were spotted packing on the PDA on Sept. 8 at the VIP opening of the Twelve Thirty Club rooftop bar in Nashville, Tennessee.

"While they sat at dinner with a whole group afterward, he was outside talking to a friend and she came up behind him and wrapped her arms around him," an unnamed tipster told Us Weekly at the time. "They definitely weren’t hiding that they’re together and they acted like a couple the whole time."

However, it was reported a month later that Cutler broke up with Kramer after a few dates because he didn't make Cavallari jealous.

"The real reason [they broke up] is because he didn’t succeed at making Kristin jealous," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "He took Jana to the most public places for their dates, knowing they would be photographed together and would get attention from being out in Nashville, but it never worked."

Cutler and Cavallari will be spending the holidays together as a family with their three kids — Camden, 9, Jaxon, 7, and Saylor, 5. According to the "Laguna Beach" star, they are setting aside their differences and putting their children first.

Meanwhile, Kramer will be spending the holidays with her two kids with Caussin, Jolie, 5, and son, Jace, 2. Next year, her children will spend the holidays with their dad.

"Next year I can't even think about not having them on Christmas Eve night. Instead of, kind of, future tripping, I'm like, 'OK, just take it day by day,'" Kramer said.
