‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 4: Darci Factor Finds Love In Rogelio’s Colleague

Rogelio De La Vega (Jaime Camil) and Xo Villanueva (Andrea Navedo) from “Jane the Virgin” are newlyweds who probably won’t have enough time to enjoy their honeymoon, given the fact that Rogelio is expecting a baby with his ex-girlfriend Darci Factor (Justina Mechado).

Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman told Entertainment Weekly that Rogelio wants to be a good co-parent, while Xo wants to be supportive of her new husband’s shared custody with Darci. However, the two are in for some challenges especially when Darci falls in love with Rogelio’s colleague.

“The Darci-Rogelio situation has a lot of twists and turns and it’s one of the arcs that I’m most excited about. She makes a surprising connection with someone from his telenovela world that starts to upset him and when the baby is born, it’s a beautiful set piece that I don’t want to spoil, but it’s a different kind of birth than we’ve seen,” Urman teased.

Could this guy be Esteban Santiago (Keller Wortham), Rogelio’s long-time nemesis? Or could he be Fabian (Francisco San Martin), Rogelio’s co-worker who once had a fling with Jane? Whoever this guy might be, one thing’s for sure - Rogelio will probably feel threatened sharing his baby with someone else.

Camil earlier told Elite Daily that it will actually be funny watching Rogelio struggle with his new responsibilities as a dad-to-be.

“Season 4 is gonna be a big one for me because, as you saw in the season finale of Season 3, Darci ended up pregnant. So it’s gonna be a fun one for Rogelio. He’s gonna have a kid, a girl, and it’s gonna be messy for him,” he said. “But at the same time any time it gets messy for Rogelio, it gets funny for the audience.”

Xo will find Rogelio’s actions overwhelming, but Urman told Deadline that the two are committed to making things work. “Right away their relationship will be challenged. But they are up for the challenge!” she said.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 4 will return on Oct. 13. at 9 p.m. EST.
