‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 4 Spoilers: Petra To Have New Love Interests
Petra Solano (Yael Grobglas) bared her heart out to her former husband, Rafael (Justin Baldoni) in “Jane the Virgin” Season 3, but things did not turn out well since Rafael still appears to be carrying the torch for Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez).
But Petra won’t be left wanting in the romance department next season, since executive Jennie Snyder Urman told TV Line she will have “a variety” of paramours in her “great, twisty, turn-y love life this year.”
On the other hand, Rogelio De La Vega’s (Jaime Camil) baby mama, Darci Factor (Justina Mechado), will also find love when The CW show returns.
Urman told Entertainment Weekly that Rogelio wants to be a good co-parent, while his new wife Xo Villanueva (Andrea Navedo) wants to be supportive of her new husband’s shared custody with Darci. However, the two are in for some challenges especially when Darci falls in love with Rogelio’s colleague.
“The Darci-Rogelio situation has a lot of twists and turns and it’s one of the arcs that I’m most excited about. She makes a surprising connection with someone from his telenovela world that starts to upset him and when the baby is born, it’s a beautiful set piece that I don’t want to spoil, but it’s a different kind of birth than we’ve seen,” Urman teased.
Rogelio might take his mind off his baby mama’s new romance by focusing on his new daughter. In fact, Urman said that he will create “a lot of photo shoots inspired by Anne Geddes.” She teased, “You might see Jane as a sunflower, and the baby as a little bee.”
Xo will definitely find this new scenario overwhelming, but thankfully, she’s determined to make her marriage work. “Xo and Ro know that life will be complicated and difficult, but they committed to each other anyway,” she told Deadline. “Xo and Ro are definitely not going to have the traditional ‘honeymoon period.’ Right away their relationship will be challenged. But they are up for the challenge!”
“Jane the Virgin” Season 4 will return on Oct. 13. at 9 p.m. EST.
