‘Jane The Virgin’ Star Gina Rodriguez Admits She Has Anxiety Over Showing Her Bare Face
“Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez recently admitted to suffering from anxiety when she was asked to pose makeup-less for her friend.
On her Instagram account, Rodriguez shared a 10-second clip featuring herself staring straight into the camera with a huge smile on her face. The actress is wearing a Yankees cap, a white shirt and a sweater in the video. Rodriguez didn’t say anything during her portrait session, but she shared what it felt like being in front of the camera with just her bare face.

Rodriguez said that looking at her video made her recall how anxious she was when Anton Soggui filmed her on the streets of Los Angeles. The actress said that she empathizes with herself and wants everyone to know that it’s normal to feel this way every now and then. “There is nothing different or strange about having anxiety and I will prevail,” she captioned the clip. She concluded her post by saying that this is the real her.
Last week, Rodriguez also posed for Cosmo for Latinas and shared one of her snaps from the pictorial. In the photo, the actress could be seen wearing a cropped black long sleeved jacket. She did not have anything underneath it, so her cleavage and stomach can be seen in the photograph.
In her post, the actress, who plays the role of Jane Villanueva, revealed that she has been suffering from Hashimoto’s disease. The condition is classified as an autoimmune disease that may cause weight gain, fatigue and muscle pain, according to People. But despite her struggles with her health, weight and body, Rodriguez said that she has come to a point where she loves everything about herself. She also admitted to loving the photo because it felt like her young self has finally made her current self her own hero.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez will return to “Jane the Virgin” Season 4 starting this fall. The CW made the decision to renew the series as early as January. By the looks of it, the first episode from Season 4 will air in October just like in Seasons 1 to 3. But instead of its usual Monday schedule, the series has been moved to Friday nights.
