‘Jane The Virgin’ Star Gina Rodriguez Reveals Why She’s Excited For This Year’s Golden Globes

Gina Rodriguez is walking on cloud nine. The “Jane the Virgin” star is thrilled to attend the 74th Golden Globe Awards, and she revealed three very important reasons why.

First, Rodriguez posted on Instagram that she has received her 3rd nomination as best actress in a television series, musical or comedy. She already won back in 2015 for her role as Jane and was also nominated back in 2014 for the same role, according to Pop Crush.

Second, Rodriguez is thrilled because “Jane the Virgin” has been renewed by The CW for a fourth season, and finally, the actress is thankful for the overflowing love and support shown by her family, friends, co-stars, and fans.

It looked like Rodriguez walked the red carpet solo even though she is currently going steady with boyfriend Joe LoCicero. Last year, she took her father, Genaro Rodriguez, as her date during the awards ceremony. And in her acceptance speech, she thanked all the members of her family, according to E! News. “To my siblings, to my sisters, Ivelisse and Rebecca for being the biggest role models in my life,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez told Yahoo! Style that she is pretty excited for the next chapter in Jane’s life. She is now learning how to become a good wife, living outside of her Abuela’s (Ivonne Col) house, trying to make it big as a writer and so many other things.

“The show is about this girl going through life, and that just happens to be a really fun aspect of what made it interesting and a little different, and it made her holding on to her convictions such a powerful thing as a woman on television. So it’s nice that she also then moved into another chapter. I was desiring that myself for Jane,” said Rodriguez.
