‘Jane The Virgin’ Star Justin Baldoni Shares First Photos Of New Baby
Justin Baldoni is not only a dad on “Jane the Virgin,” but he’s also the father to two children offscreen. He revealed Sunday that he and wife Emily Baldoni welcomed a baby boy last week.
Baldoni posted the first photos of Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni to Twitter. “HE. IS. HERE,” the CW actor wrote. “Meet Maxwell Roland-Samuel Baldoni! 8lbs, 7oz of pure LOVE. Our hearts have doubled in size...again.”
The photos show Justin shirtless while holding the newborn in his arms. Another snap shows Emily, who is a Swedish actress, holding the baby boy.
Justin and Emily are also parents to daughter Maiya, 2. “Maiya is so excited to have a baby brother and is already helping change his diapers and giving him tons of kisses,” the couple exclusively told People.
The husband and wife had revealed their son’s birth to the magazine earlier on Sunday morning. Emily gave birth on Wednesday, Oct. 18, and their son was 21.5 inches long. “We want to thank everyone for all the love and prayers. We are so grateful,” the duo, who married in 2013, added.
The “Jane the Virgin” actor has been documenting Emily’s pregnancy since they made the news public in May. From posting baby bump photos to nursery decorating to documenting their babymoon in Kauai, Hawaii, the thespians were happy to let fans in on their second pregnancy. Justin also took time earlier this month to remind fans that although he was posting perfect photos of his new nursery from Target, parenting is actually “intense” and difficult.
“The truth is, I am working non-stop. Emily is 9 months pregnant which means she is actually working non-stop,” he wrote on Instagram. “Maiya is growing and changing, and has no way of fully grasping how her little brother is about to rock her world. How he's about to rock all of our worlds. We are tired, and anxious, and excited, and nervous, and grateful and scared. Basically, we are human and feeling all the highs and lows that come with it. Yes we are extremely fortunate. Yes Emily and I love each other and Maiya is amazing... but at the same time, we are all human — we all have our flaws, our insecurities, our bad moods and bad days.”
On “Jane the Virgin,” Justin’s character Rafael has also been having some trouble in the co-parenting department. He and Jane (Gina Rodriguez) got into a massive fight after he dipped into baby Mateo’s trust fund to pay for his tuition. Jane agreed to let their son use his grandparents address to get into a better school, but that might get both of the parents into some trouble if school officials find out.
“Jane the Virgin” airs Fridays at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
