Janet Jackson 65-Pound Weight Loss Due To Grueling Rehearsals For Upcoming Tour

Janet Jackson is working hard to give fans the best performances in her upcoming tour.

Jackson will be in her best shape when she soon hits the road for her “State of the World” tour, which kicks off on Sept. 7 in Lafayette, Louisiana. For the past several weeks, the singer has been busy with intense rehearsals, which have helped her shed the extra pounds she gained during her pregnancy with son Eissa, whom she welcomed in January.

According to an insider, Jackson, 51, has been rehearsing for “15, 16 hours” a day. “It’s a grueling schedule, but she is up to the task,” the insider told Entertainment Tonight. “She wants to blow the crowd away. She will be perfection like her brother, Michael. She’s all about the showmanship.”

The insider added that the grueling rehearsals helped Jackson achieve a much slimmer frame just months after giving birth to her son. “She has lost more than 65 pounds and has her pre-baby body back and then some,” the source told ET. “It’s possible that she could lose another 10 pounds before the start of the tour.”

Jackson has been looking much more fit in her social media posts lately. On Monday, Aug. 7, exactly a month before her world tour kicks off, the singer shared a snapshot of herself during one of their rehearsals on Twitter. She looked noticeably slimmer in the snapshot. “Hey u guys. I’m so excited for the State of the World Tour. We [are] in rehearsal mode. See [you] guys in 1 month!” she tweeted.

In other news, Jackson is now back in Los Angeles, wanting to be closer to her family. She lived for a while in London, where estranged husband Wissam Al Mana is based. Jackson and Mana are divorcing, and the proceedings started on June 15, Us Weekly reported.

According to an onlooker, Jackson looked at ease and relaxed during the proceedings. “Janet was in a great mood,” an eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight. “She was happy and hugging and kissing her legal team as she left the court house ... Janet had about seven people in her entourage including her brother Randi, her assistant and her legal team.”
