Janet Todd, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Set To Unify Titles At ONE On Prime Video 5

In its much-awaited return to the Philippines this coming December, ONE Championship will crown its one true queen to lord over the growing women's atomweight Muay Thai division.

Serving as one of the feature attractions at ONE on Prime Video 5, lineal champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues and interim titlist Janet Todd are set to square off against each other in a world championship unification contest.

Rodrigues—a native of Fortaleza, Brazil who is now based in Thailand—first turned heads when she made her promotional debut in August 2020, scoring an upset victory over Stamp Fairtex by way of majority decision to capture the ONE women's atomweight Muay Thai championship.

However, following her shocking win versus Stamp to become a world champion, Rodrigues took a sabbatical surrounding the pregnancy and birth of her son, Josue, in September 2021.

During her absence from action, the promotion kept the bracket active and one of the fighters who seized the opportunity to shine was Todd.

Todd—the reigning ONE women's atomweight kickboxing champion—racked up two blistering performances under Muay Thai rules in 2021, turning in a three-round demolition of former world title challenger Alma Juniku and then an emphatic stoppage win over Anne Line Hogstad.

The 36-year-old native of Hermosa Beach, California achieved the rare feat of becoming a two-sport titleholder by outpointing Lara Fernandez via unanimous decision to claim the interim ONE women's atomweight Muay Thai belt this past July.

Both women bring contrasting-but-intriguing fighting styles to the table when they go head-to-head at ONE on Prime Video 5.

Rodrigues cultivated a more traditional form of Muay Thai with a potent right roundhouse kick and sharp elbow strikes to go along with her distinct habit of breaking down her opponents gradually.

On the other hand, Todd is known for her fast-paced, all-out approach that allows her to string together beautiful boxing combinations and a plethora of unforgiving knees and kicks to the midsection.

Given their respective masteries in "The Art of Eight Limbs," it shapes up as a scheduled five-round encounter that could go either way.

The unification match-up between Rodrigues and Todd will join the highly-anticipated debut of Roberto Soldic on the card.

Soldic is slated to take on undefeated Russian stalwart Murad Ramazanov in a three-round welterweight mixed martial arts joust.

ONE on Prime Video 5 is set to take place at the 20,000-seater SM Mall Of Asia Arena in Metro Manila, Philippines on the morning of December 3 (December 2 in the United States).

Meanwhile, ONE 164 featuring the strawweight title grudge match between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brook is scheduled to happen on the evening of the same day.
