Javi Marroquin Confirms Divorce From ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Kailyn Lowry Is Finalized
“Teen Mom 2” reality star Kailyn Lowry’s divorce from Javi Marroquin was finalized Monday, he told Radar Onine in an exclusive interview. Lowry filed for divorce December 2015, dissolving their 4-year marriage.
“It’s true, it’s been finalized,” Marroquin, 23, confirmed. He and Lowry will share joint custody of their 3-year-old son, Lincoln.
Marroquin didn’t divulge how their finances would be handled concerning child and spousal support. Money isn’t an issue for them. “I don’t need any money from her. I can provide for my own son,” Marroquin said. “I didn’t take her for child support because I do have 50/50 of Lincoln.”
Even though their relationship was tumultuous, last year’s divorce filing came as a shock to Marroquin. They reunited before he went on a 7-month deployment with the Air Force. Lowry never told him the divorce was still on.
“When she brought it up later I was like, ‘Whoa, I thought you canceled this’,” he told Radar Online in August. “I didn’t even know she still had it going on. Up until the day we left, to my knowledge, we were good… We were going to make it.”
Marroquin moved on with new girlfriend Cassie Bucka. He confirmed the relationship on Snapchat shortly before his divorce to Lowry was finalized. He joked with her about a denim out he wore via Twitter Friday.
Marroquin is worried about Season 8 of “Teen Mom 2” to air. “I'm not,” he wrote Nov. 28 when a fan asked if he was excited. “I was in a dark place then and finally moved on and me and [Cassie] are doing really well now so it'll be rough.”
The MTV reality star didn’t issue a statement about her divorce. She focused on her new book, “Hustle & Heart.”
Season 8 of “Teen Mom 2” will air on MTV Monday, Jan. 2 at 10 p.m. EST.
