Jawbone UP: Release Date, Features, Price Revealed [VIDEO]
Jawbone's highly anticipated UP wristband has finally been released and truly is a jaw-dropping product as its revolutionary tracking system monitors people's movement, eating and sleeping habits, in promotion of a healthier lifestyle.
Jawbone's new wristband quite literally urges people to get UP. Everyday activity is tracked though one simple iPhone app that monitors people's steps, distance, pace, calories and GPS routes.
The app has a whole section for challenges, these include:
100,000 steps: Find creative ways to add steps to your day with a goal of accumulating 100,000 steps over 10 days, and take the whole family along for the walk. Take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator and park at the back of the lot, enjoying the walk rather than jockeying for the closest spot
Eiffel Tower: It takes 1,665 steps to climb the Eiffel Tower. Be the first to the top and earn 60 DailyFeats points for real-life rewards.
Every Minute Counts: even 15 minutes of running makes a difference. Earn 15 DailyFeats points for real-life rewards.
Gimme Five: Do at least 30 minutes of physical activity five times a week. Need a reason? Take five:
You'll look better: Regular exercise can help you lose weight and keep it from coming back.
You'll feel better: Reduce stress. Elevate endorphins.
You'll sleep better: Get to sleep faster. Stay asleep longer.
You'll think better: Regular exercise can boost energy and improve focus.
You'll BE better: Regular exercise can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and more.
If a user has been inactive for too long they can program their wristband to vibrate and remind them to move.
UP can also be put into sleep mode to track how long, deep or lightly people sleep. For those who want to be woken up gradually from a deep night's sleep, UP can be programmed to vibrate at the ideal moment of a natural sleep pattern before a person's desired wake up time.
Sleep challenges is another feature of the App that promotes longer and better sleep quality to restore energy:
Get 49 hours of sleep per week (or seven hours a day). A good night's sleep will not only help you wake up feeling fresh, it can help sustain your energy so you can be more active throughout your day. Your mind will benefit, too. We all know that a good night's sleep improves your ability to focus, learn and remember new information. Bon voyage! one challenge reads.
Finally UP users can keep a food journal by recording how they feel after eating each meal, which through times allows people to identify their the types of food that make them feel best. The food section also comes with many tips on the best energizing foods to eat on a daily basis.
The UP is being released in three sizes and seven colors: black, brown, dark red, bright red, white, silver, and bright blue. It is schedules to go on sale on Nov.6, priced at $99.
