It is Jay-Z’s birthday and he’s celebrating his 50th in a big way by allowing fans to streaming all his music on Spotify. The streaming service shared the news on Twitter, confirming that the rapper’s entire discography would be available to listen to the platform.

Previously, most of Jay-Z’s catalog would be found on Tidal, a streaming service that the rap icon owns. The launch of his streaming platform coincided with the release of his latest album “4:44.” His work was taken off of both Apple and Spotify in April 2017 but quickly made a comeback on Apple Music. Spotify hadn’t been able to get back the rights to play Jay-Z’s songs on behalf of the artist. With Tidal, only some of his albums were taken off the service, with records like both volumes of “In My Lifetime” and “Hard Knock Life” remaining in the rival streaming service. With Spotify, the only album that listeners could previously check out was his 2014 album with Linkin Park titled “Collision Course.”

The hip-hop mogul’s wife Beyonce also made a similar move back in April when she made her album “Lemonade” available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music after it was previously streaming exclusively on Tidal.

In the next month, fans will also be able to listen to the entire catalog of the late Aaliyah in most of the music streaming platforms just in time for her birthday, which falls on Jan. 16.

For now, fans can now enjoy streaming Jay-Z albums like “American Gangster” or “Watch the Throne” on his 50th birthday. It’s a mystery as to how this was all arranged to make this happen. It’s been two years, but now fans can fully enjoy all of the record producer’s greatest hits. We don’t know how long these records will stay up for on the streaming platform, so fans will have to make it last and enjoy listening to one of the greats in hip-hop while they still can.
