Rapper JayAre from the group Cali Swag District died on Friday at the age of 25, MTV reports.

JayAre, whose given name is Cahron Childs, was taken to the hospital late Thursday , the report said. He suffered a cardiac arrest upon being admitted to the hospital and died Friday. There was no word on why he was admitted to the hospital.

JayAre suffered from sickle cell anemia, and group member General Da Smoove tweeted Friday night JayAre’s death was connected to the disease.

"Sickle cell took my brother away from me today," he said.

"With that being said I'm proud to know that with that disease he made the best of his life ... I just saw my bro literally fight for his life I told him 'I love you bro' hope'n he heard me," he added.

JayAre’s is the second loss for the group best known for their hit track “Teach Me How To Dougie.” In 2011, member M-Bone was killed in a drive-by-shooting in Inglewood, California.
