Jazz Jennings’ Boyfriend Ahmir Talks ‘Forgotten Self-Worth’ After ‘I Am Jazz’ Finale

“I Am Jazz” Season 5 has already aired its finale, and Jazz Jennings has already said her “thank yous” after the show wrapped up. But around the same time the TLC reality series ended, Jazz’s boyfriend, Ahmir Steward, revealed that he hasn’t been happy for a little while.

Interestingly, Ahmir appeared to be in high spirits days after his revelation when he reminisced about his date with the trans teen in the Big Apple on his Instagram over the weekend. The Philadelphia native took to the photo- and video-sharing service to share a snap of him and Jazz standing side by side in Times Square.

In his caption, Ahmir said that he couldn’t believe that the season is already over. He also noted that it was such an “amazing experience” to be part of Jazz’s documented journey and he certainly “wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

In a follow-up, Ahmir uploaded a selfie he took in front of a mirror and gushed about self-worth. According to the human rights and mental health activist, people should treat themselves with respect and not let others treat them like they are nothing. He added that love can sometimes make people forget their self-worth and how powerful they really are.

It wasn’t clear if Ahmir was referring to Jazz, who apparently forgot to mention him when she was thanking everyone who supported her amid her bottom surgery and for the life-changing events she experienced in the past year (Season 5 was filmed last year) in her latest Instagram post.

Some fans are convinced that Jazz and Ahmir have already broken up. Both parties haven’t addressed the rumors so far. When Ahmir broke his silence earlier this month, he only urged fans to just tune in to the show and put two and two together. He also said at the time that it’s good that fans couldn’t tell if they are still a couple based on their social media posts.

But the rumors intensified when Ahmir disclosed on social media that he hasn’t been happy and he’s just been hiding behind a smile and making jokes for the past few months. On the other hand, Jazz hasn’t referred to Ahmir as her boyfriend on her Instagram posts.

In the penultimate episode of the TLC series, Jazz opened up to Ahmir about her desire to explore the world more and grow with other people. When Ahmir asked her if she wanted to break up with him, Jazz said she doesn’t want for them to go separate ways. She then decided that they’ll just have a “no commitment” relationship for now.
