Jazz Jennings decided to share an update with her fans this week by sharing a selfie online, while her reality show’s fate remained undecided.
The 21-year-old trans activist took to Instagram Tuesday to upload a close-up photo showing her smiling at the camera while wearing a black jacket and a matching bonnet. She also rocked large glasses in the snap.
“A smile for you, and a smile for you, a smile a day can get us all through,” Jennings captioned the post, along with a beaming face with smiling eyes emoji.
Her post received a flurry of responses from her fans, with many of them voicing how happy they were to see the reality star looking great while studying at Harvard.
“Yes, it can. You look great!! Hope school is going well,” one commented in response to Jennings’ caption.
“Your [sic] looking beautiful jazz! Hope your [sic] enjoying Harvard,” another wrote.
“Great to see you happy and thriving at Harvard,” a third user added.
The TV personality’s post comes amid the heightened anticipation for her family’s reality show. “I Am Jazz” wrapped up Season 7 in early February, so fans were excited for the next installment of the series.
According to NextSeasonTV, TLC has yet to renew the show for Season 8. The status of “I Am Jazz” on its database is still pending.
After the finale of “I Am Jazz” Season 7 aired, Distractify reported that it was very likely for the show to get picked up for another season because it still averaged about a million viewers per episode, just like its previous seasons’ ratings.
However, when Jazz’s mom, Jeanette Jennings, was interviewed by Dr. Kryss Shane for MediaVillage hours before the finale, she said that the fate of their family’s show was really up to Jazz.
“I can say this, that it’s really in our hands, to put it that way. It’s really what Jazz wants to do, so it could be. But if she’s like tied up with summer school or something, they can’t film up at Harvard. They’re not allowed to … have cameras up there. Without her, we wouldn’t have a show,” Jeanette said.
