Jeff Bezos, Girlfriend Lauren Sanchez Jet Off To Mexico After Big Amazon Announcement

Jeff Bezos was spotted in Mexico with his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez weeks after he announced that he would be stepping down as the CEO of Amazon.

Bezos is taking a break. He and Sanchez were photographed aboard a luxury boat in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico over the weekend. The second richest man in the world was wearing blue swimming trunks, a short-sleeve shirt and straw hat in the photos, Page Six reported.

Meanwhile, Sanchez sported a red bikini and a white cover-up. They were also spotted on the swanky ride and also strolled along the water. The couple's sighting came less than two weeks after he announced that he would be stepping down as the Chief Executive Officer of Amazon and would transition to the role of Executive Chair in the third quarter of 2021. Andy Jassy will take over the CEO position.

"Amazon is what it is because of invention. We do crazy things together and then make them normal. We pioneered customer reviews, 1-Click, personalized recommendations, Prime’s insanely-fast shipping, Just Walk Out shopping, the Climate Pledge, Kindle, Alexa, marketplace, infrastructure cloud computing, Career Choice, and much more," he said in a press release issued Feb 2.

"If you do it right, a few years after a surprising invention, the new thing has become normal. People yawn. That yawn is the greatest compliment an inventor can receive. When you look at our financial results, what you’re actually seeing are the long-run cumulative results of invention. Right now I see Amazon at its most inventive ever, making it an optimal time for this transition."

Meanwhile, Bezos and Sanchez's relationship made headlines in 2019. Bezos broke up with his wife, MacKenzie, after 25 years of marriage and hours after their split announcement, it was reported that he was in a relationship with Sanchez, according to Insider.

Sources claimed Bezos had "gone Hollywood" for his girlfriend. In 2020, he splashed out $165 million for music mogul David Geffen's Beverly Hills estate. He was also spotted at Tom Ford's star-studded fashion show and at other big events like the Super Bowl. He also hung out with Lizzo and hit nightclubs with his lady love. Bezos and Sanches also passionately made out for photographers at the royal box of Wimbledon, Page Six reported.

However, some felt that Bezos had changed a lot after he started going out with Sanchez.

"I’ve known Jeff since the early days of Amazon and his recent behavior is nothing that I would expect from him — this is not the Jeff that I knew," one told The Post.
