Jenna Jameson Arrested: Ex-Porn Star Charged With Battery

Former porn star Jenna Jameson was charged with battery after allegedly assaulting someone on Saturday in California.

Specific details on the incident are scant; police say that the alleged assault occurred in Orange County on Saturday night, CNN reports. In a statement released Sunday night, local authorities confirmed that the victim had made a citizen’s arrest, restraining Jameson until police arrived to take her into custody.

TMZ reports that the incident took place before a scheduled party to celebrate Jameson’s 39th birthday.

While the 38-year-old former porn star knows the person that she assaulted, Newport Beach Police Lt. Evan Sailor did not reveal the nature of their relationship, CNN reports.

Jameson was taken to the nearby Newport Beach Police Jail, where she was released without having to post bail. She will be charged with misdemeanor battery, CNN reports.

Although Jameson’s representatives have yet to officially comment on her arrest, the former adult film star did post tweets that seemed to address the issue. A tweet that has since been deleted suggested that a friend of Jameson’s had “"broke into (her) home and took everything."

Jameson is best known for her wildly successful career as a porn star, in which she appeared in countless films, strip clubs and magazine spreads. As the CEO of ClubJenna, Inc., Jameson transitioned from on-screen star to successful producer. In 2008, she officially retired from porn.

In recent years, the former starlet has had a series of run-ins with the law. Jameson was arrested for a DUI last year after driving her car into a light pole, TMZ reports. Additionally, Tito Ortiz, Jameson’s husband and an ex-Ultimate Fighting Championship star, was arrested for domestic violence after the two had a heated argument in 2010.
