Jennette McCurdy, Andre Drummond Dating: 'Sam & Cat' Actress, Detroit Pistons Star Vacation In Disneyland [PHOTOS]
It appears that Detroit Pistons star Andre Drummond and "Sam & Cat" actress Jennette McCurdy have turned their virtual courtship into a real-life relationship.
Drummond and McCurdy posted a series of photos to their respective Instagram accounts over Labor Day weekend, fueling speculation that the pair are dating. If his photo captions are any indication, Drummond appears to be quite excited about his newfound romance. “Words can’t explain! Add your own caption,” Drummond captioned an Instagram photo in which he carried the "Sam & Cat" star on his back.
If they are dating, McCurdy and Drummond have already taken their first vacation as a couple. Some of Drummond’s Instagram photos were taken in Disneyland, where he and McCurdy were spotted with fellow “iCarly” actor Nathan Kress. “’No comment for what was going on here’ lol greatest day ever at Disney with [Jennette McCurdy],” Drummond wrote on one photo.
Drummond, 20, initially confessed to his crush on McCurdy in August, when he posted a picture of the former “iCarly” actress as part of Instagram’s “Women Crush Wednesday” trend. McCurdy quickly took note of Drummond’s virtual flirting (thanks in part to her nearly 4 million Twitter followers), prompting the pair to follow each other on Twitter and exchange messages.
"I wanna watch you play!,” McCurdy wrote to Drummond on Twitter. The Pistons star responded by saying that he’d “let [McCurdy] know when I play in LA!” Later, a Twitter follower asked McCurdy if she was going to mention Drummond as her “ManCrushMonday.” The actress responded by saying “mm hmm.”
Drummond spent the next few weeks wooing McCurdy over Twitter and Instagram, sending the 21-year-old a series of gifts and flirtatious messages. Throughout August, Drummond apparently sent McCurdy flowers, teddy bears, and Detroit Pistons memorabilia. In keeping with the couple’s track record, McCurdy took to Instagram to show her appreciation.
“My bear Drummy… Thank you,” McCurdy wrote upon receiving the teddy bear. The photo received more than 55,000 likes on Instagram. The “Sam & Cat” actress had a similarly enthusiastic response when she received a bouquet of flowers, though she initially declined to reveal who had sent them. Still, the 21-year-old’s social media followers were quick to suggest that the flowers had been a gift from Drummond.
