KEY POINTS

  • Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman reportedly competing over Reese Witherspoon
  • Jennifer Aniston's relationship with Angelina Jolie
  • Jennifer Aniston's friendship with Brad Pitt

Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman are reportedly competing to hang out with a particular celebrity pal.

An insider alleged that the “Murder Mystery” actress is competing with her friend Kidman over their mutual buddy Reese Witherspoon. This reportedly resulted in a tension between the two.

“Nicole and Jen used to be good pals but lately they’ve been competing over who gets to hang out with Reese,” a source told New Idea.

“It’s become super awkward, but they haven’t had to deal with it publicly until now. They’re all pretty fiery and used to getting their way, so you can expect the claws to come out big time when they’re all in the same room.”

The insider added that Aniston and Kidman’s nominations for the coveted Golden Globe Best Actress in a Drama TV series only made the matter worse. Kidman was nominated for her performance in “Big Little Lies.” Aniston was nominated for “The Morning Show.” However, aside from the two, their common friend Witherspoon is also one of the nominees in the same category.

The source claimed that Witherspoon was conflicted between Aniston and Kidman being so “competitive and childish.” The insider added that Aniston and Charlize Theron could also be in friction because they don’t like each other. It didn’t help that Theron was linked to Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt earlier this year.

One should take the report with a grain of salt. It’s unlikely for Kidman and Aniston to fight over Reese’s attention. Both are grown-ups and Witherspoon isn’t their only mutual pal.

Melissa McCarthy is also close to Aniston and Kidman. She described the “Cake” star as a “little nugget.” According to her, Aniston is “just solid, good.” Meanwhile, she said that Kidman is a “smart, non-bull puppy.”

Also, Aniston is someone who is unlikely to engage in drama. In fact, she praised Angelina Jolie’s movie “Unbroken,” saying that it was “so beautiful and wonderful.” Jolie and Aniston were reportedly at odds over their ex-husband, Pitt.

Aniston and Pit t have also rekindled their friendship. Earlier this year, the “Ad Astra” actor attended Aniston’s 50th birthday bash. Also, a few weeks ago, Pitt was in attendance at the “Horrible Bosses” star’s holiday party.
