Jennifer Aniston’s trainer shared how she achieved her toned arms and back.
The “Murder Mystery” star is one of the celebrities who still look so good even if she’s already in her 50s. Aniston has received praises for her figure in particular, for her toned arms and back. Aniston’s trainer, Gloveworx founder Leyon Azubuike, confessed that it was difficult to keep up with her.
“She works so hard, and I’ve never really seen anything like it,” Azubuike told Women’s Health. “You constantly, as a coach, have to stay on your toes and make it challenging.”
According to the instructor, Aniston always starts with mobility work. She doesn’t start her workout immediately but takes the time to warm up.
“You can’t just hop into an explosive workout. It’s very important that you get your mobility work in, and [work on] your range of motion,” he continued.
“That’s where a lot of people get it mistaken, because they feel like if they’re sweaty, and their skin is warm, that they’re actually warmed up. So before Jen starts a tough upper-body workout, she stretches out with 15 minutes of yoga-based moves and then foam rolls before turning up the heat with cardio.”
Aniston performs yoga-inspired moves for her warm up. She does some yoga poses like cat cow, bird dog and downward-facing dog. For cardio, she does butt kicks, jumping jacks, and jumping rope.
For her upper body, Brad Pitt’s ex-wife does boxing and balances it with “pulling” exercises like renegade rows, which allow opposing muscle groups to be worked on. Aniston admitted in a previous interview that she enjoys boxing.
“There's something about the mental aspect of boxing—the drills, your brain has to work, you're not just sitting on a bike. It's amazing,” Aniston said.
For her core, Aniston does planking and they usually incorporate all types of planks including forearm plank, low plank, high plank, and side plank. Azubuike described Aniston as a “very, very special athlete.”
In related news, Pitt and Aniston almost reconciled in 2005. They were seen walking hand-in-hand and still wearing their wedding rings weeks after announcing their split. In fact, even Pitt’s grandmother Betty Russell thought they would get back together. However, things turned for the worse and they eventually parted ways.
