Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck Divorce Rumors: Couple Has Lived Apart For Years: Report
Uh-oh. There could be another Hollywood couple headed for splitsville if rumors about A-list actress Jennifer Garner and Oscar winner Ben Affleck are true. The duo have been married for nearly a decade and have three children, but their marriage has been rocky for years -- the past month especially, an insider told the New York Daily News in an exclusive report Thursday.
Part of the reason the couple has fallen on harder times is because of Affleck’s attitude. “Ben Affleck only likes things his way or no way. He’s as stubborn as a mule,” an insider told the Daily News. “He’s not exactly flexible. He is prone to moodiness when he doesn’t get his way. Dealing with him is not a walk in the park.”
The divorce rumors seem to shed light on Affleck’s awkward 2013 Oscar acceptance speech for “Argo,” when he equated his marriage to Garner as work. “I want to thank you for working on marriage for 10 Christmases. It’s good, it is work, but it’s the best kind of work, and there’s no one I’d rather work with,” he said.
It’s not to say the couple never had good times together. They used to enjoy hanging out with Matt Damon and his family at his home in Brentwood, California, but now Garner and Affleck barely see each other. “Things were definitely a lot more upbeat and optimistic then. Now there’s friction and tension between them. They’re like two ships passing in the night,” the insider revealed.
Their apparent relationship woes first circulated after OK! magazine published a story Wednesday. If they decide to terminate their marriage, it could be worth $150 million, the Inquisitr noted.
If the rumors are true, people won’t have to wait too long to find out. “They’re already separated,” a source told OK! magazine Wednesday, and added: “Ben wants the official statement to come out a few weeks before their 10th anniversary June 29-- which he hopes will give enough time for the news to die down by the time he has to promote ‘Batman v. Superman (Dawn of Justice)’ and the other movies he has coming out next year.” His new movie, "Justice League: Part One," is slated to premiere in theaters in 2017.
Neither Garner nor Affleck has responded publicly to the divorce rumors.
