Jennifer Garner Not Leaning On Brad Pitt Amid Ben Affleck’s Sobriety Struggle

Rumors that claimed Jennifer Garner was leaning on Brad Pitt as Ben Affleck tries to maintain his sobriety was debunked Wednesday.

Gossip Cop debunked an article in NW magazine which claimed the rumor was true. Earlier this week, the same website had debunked another claim by the same magazine. According to the magazine, Pitt and Garner were secretly dating for several months, and the two were meeting up for trysts at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The story, like most false stories, was based on information from a source who was both anonymous and untraceable. Spokespersons for both the stars told Gossip Cop “on the record” the two were not a couple.

This time, the magazine has based the article on Garner, Pitt and the former’s ex-husband Ben Affleck.

Earlier this month, Affleck completed a 40-day treatment in rehab for his alcohol addiction. He continues to seek outpatient treatment.

After his divorce from Angelina Jolie, Pitt quit his drinking habits, he revealed last year.

The magazine claimed Garner was “impressed” by Pitt’s commitment to sobriety. It added Pitt has “become her rock” as her ex-husband struggles with alcoholism. “He can understand what Jennifer is dealing with first-hand,” the tabloid alleged.

Gossip Cop stated the entire article was based on lies. Separate representatives of both Pitt and Garner already made it clear the two are not dating. The website pointed out the actress was not using Pitt as “her rock” because the two were not in a relationship.

Earlier this month, other reliable news outlets such as People and “Entertainment Tonight” stated Garner started dating again.

“Jen has been wanting to move on and now when the divorce is finalized, she finally can,” a source told People. “She has had no choice but to be patient since Ben needed to finish his rehab treatment. But she was ready to sign the papers.”

“Jen doesn’t want to be single for the rest of her life, so she is open to dating,” the source added. “She has been on dates, but it seems she isn’t serious about a guy. As always, she is mostly focused on her kids and her job.”

As Gossip Cop pointed out, NW was the only publication which claimed that the actress was seeing Pitt.

According to the website, the article was a result of NW's attempt to combine Pitt and Garner’s respective divorces, which have been the subjects of countless tabloid stories for a while now.
