Jennifer Lawrence Jokes About Being Pregnant, Admits To Ignoring Boyfriend Nicholas Hoult In Favor Of Her Career
Jennifer Lawrence has her priorities, and apparently, her boyfriend, actor Nicholas Hoult, isn’t one of them.
“I’m pregnant,” Lawrence, 23, jokingly confessed in the June issue of Marie Claire magazine. “Not really! Quite the opposite, actually," she added, before going on to admit that Hoult, 24, her boyfriend of three years, takes a back seat to her burgeoning film career.
"It's hard when you're both working,” Lawrence admitted about her on-again, off-again romance with her “X-Men: Days of Future Past” co-star, confirming that the actor comes second to her busy Hollywood career. "When we're busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other. Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn't text back or call. Life's super-busy,” she said.
While the “Hunger Games” star and her actor beau may not be as thick as thieves, the actress had nothing but kind words for her two-time co-star. “Looks can go pretty far. Nobody can deny a beautiful face. Fortunately, I have one,” Lawrence said of Hoult, adding that her attraction to the British native goes beyond physicality. “Humor and intelligence are key,” she said. “Looks fade very quickly. I love a unique mind. Somebody who’s his own person.”
According to Lawrence, the duo are so secure in their relationship that his coming role alongside Kristen Stewart, in the film “Equals,” isn’t an issue. “There was something in a magazine and I was like, ‘Oh my God, that’s hilarious,'" Lawrence said of the rumors that she was fearful Stewart, 24, might steal Hoult due to her allure for British men (a la Robert Pattinson.) “Kristen and I are friends,” Lawrence said. “I actually texted her a picture of it and was like, ‘Just so you know, this is absolutely true.’”
Lawrence’s interview comes on the heels of Hoult’s comments that he feels like his better half’s “bystander.” During a sitdown with V Man magazine in March, the “Warm Bodies” star confirmed that he definitely plays second fiddle. “I am just kind of her bystander in many ways,” he said before going on to praise her recent successes. “It is well-deserved for her. I haven’t really seen any change in her."
“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” starring Hoult as Hank McCoy/Beast and Lawrence as Raven/Mystique, hits U.S. theaters May 23.
