Jennifer Lopez is setting the record straight after rumors began circulating about her relationship with Ben Affleck.
The 52-year-old singer, who rekindled her romance with Affleck, 49, earlier this year, has denied claims that she was upset with her boyfriend over his controversial comments regarding his marriage to Jennifer Garner during a recent interview with Howard Stern.
"This story is simply not true," Lopez exclusively told People. "It is not how I feel. I couldn't have more respect for Ben as a father, a co-parent and a person."
An unnamed source close to the couple also told the outlet that the pair is "in a really great space and really happy."
The Grammy winner's denial came days after Page Six quoted an unnamed insider as saying that Lopez wasn't happy about Affleck appearing to pin his struggles with sobriety on Garner during his Tuesday interview on "The Howard Stern Show."
"[Lopez] is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn't want to be dragged into this," the source said. "She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben's kids."
The source said of Affleck, "It's reckless and cavalier of him.”
In his interview with Stern, Affleck said that part of why he started drinking was because he felt "trapped" in his marriage to Garner, with whom he shares Violet, 16, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9. They called it quits in 2015 after 10 years of marriage and finalized their divorce in 2018.
"I was like, 'I can't leave because of my kids, but I'm not happy, what do I do?' And what I did was drank a bottle of Scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution," Affleck said.
Affleck said he and Garner tried to make their marriage work for the sake of their children. The actor also said that he "would probably still be drinking" had the exes not gotten a divorce.
The "Justice League" star faced backlash online over the interview. He later addressed the criticism during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Wednesday, saying his comments to Stern were taken out of context.
Affleck said he was "hurt" by the backlash and that people "had literally taken the conversation that I had had for two hours and made it seem as if I was saying the exact opposite of what I had said."
The "Tender Bar" star explained to host Jimmy Kimmel that he was trying in his conversation with Stern to articulate how much he and Garner respected and cared about each other and how they put their children first. Instead, he said he came off in the media as "the worst, most insensitive, stupid awful guy."
Affleck also made it clear that he would never want his children to think that he "would ever say a bad word about their mom" because "I never have [and] I never would."
