Jennifer Lopez Fiat Commercial: Singer Admits Fake Location Used [VIDEO]
Parts of Jennifer Lopez's Fiat commercial were indeed filmed in Los Angeles, a spokesperson for the singer has confirmed.
One day after Lopez was accused of using a fake location to depict her beloved New York borough, The Bronx, details of her car commercial have emerged.
I don't see a problem. There are many cases where films are done the same way, Mark Young, Lopez's rep, told The New York Post on Wednesday.
Lopez, 42, never filmed scenes in The Bronx, as first discovered by The Smoking Gun. Instead, a body double was used to depict Jenny from the Block for the commercial Lopez personally narrates.
Here, this is my world. This place inspires me, to be tougher, to stay sharper, to think faster, Lopez says as she's seen driving through the streets of her former neighborhood.
They may be just streets to you, but to me, they're a playground, she continues in the homage to The Bronx.
Eligio Cueto, a barber shop owner who appears in the commercial, confirmed to The Smoking Gun earlier this week that the real Jenny from the Block never appeared on the New York set, even though he was filmed watching the star drive by his shop.
But it wasn't her . . . it was a body double that looked like her, Cueto told The Smoking Gun.
Fiat also admitted that a fake location was used to film Lopez's part in its commercial.
We took the opportunity to film wherever Ms. Lopez was working at the time to accommodate her schedule . . . one does not need to be in a specific location to be inspired or continue to be inspired, Fiat spokesperson Doama Gutierrez told the New York Post.
Lopez's Fiat commercial, titled My World, is not her first ad for the car company. The singer has two more - one advertising the Fiat 500 and her song Papi, and another showcasing a Gucci edition of the car.
The little Italian car recently made an appearance at the American Music Awards, joining Lopez on stage for a performance of Papi, before the singer stripped down to a seductive number and delivered her hit single, On the Floor.
Lopez, who announced her divorce from Marc Anthony in July, has been recently linked to her 24-year-old back-up dancer, Casper Smart.
