Jennifer Lopez Slammed For ‘Let’s Get Loud’ Inauguration Shoutout [Watch]

Jennifer Lopez is getting mixed reviews for adding in her own lyrics to her Inauguration Day performance medley of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful.”

Lopez's performance came just before President Joe Biden was sworn in on Wednesday and shortly after another show-stopping performance from artist Lady Gaga.

As the crescendo came in during “America the Beautiful,” Lopez immediately went into exclaiming part of the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish before singing “Let’s Get Loud” as her performance came to an end.

The inclusion of lyrics from her 1999 hit of the same name was not lost on viewers. Twitter reactions reveal that not everyone was a fan of her decision to put the spotlight on herself during the historical event.

While some have expressed distaste with her improvisation, others have taken the "Let's Get Loud" shoutout in stride. Post-inauguration, the song title trended on Twitter as viewers quipped about the performance moment.

To date, Lopez hasn't released a statement as to why she added her own lyrics to the medley.
