According to Deadline, “World of Dance” Season 1 was originally scheduled to premiere on the network on May 8 at 10 p.m. EST. The move was made so that the reality TV competition can piggyback on the 12th season of “America’s Got Talent.” The recent move from May 8 to May 30 will also pave the way for both shows to air regularly on Tuesday nights. Originally, “World of Dance” was supposed to air on Mondays for three weeks before it would be moved to Tuesdays.
“World of Dance” is the Olympics of Dance, as Lopez would like to call it. It will feature dancers from all over the world performing different styles and genres, regardless of age. Some dancers will be performing solo routines, while others will be showcasing their duo, trio or group numbers. The first season of “World of Dance” will have a total of 10 episodes. In the finale, the winner will receive $1 million as the grand prize.
