After Jerry Falwell Jr. released a statement detailing his wife Becki Tilley’s affair with Giancarlo Granda, a pool boy who they met during a 2012 vacation in Miami, the 29-year-old is calling out the former Liberty University president for lying about his heartbreak over the secret romance.

During an interview with CNN on Monday, Granda revealed that Falwell was aware of his relationship with Tilley “from day one.”

Granda, who claimed Falwell enjoyed watching his sexual encounters with Tilley, said he tried to cut ties with the family but was essentially blackmailed by the 58-year-old.

“He secretly recorded me and would threaten to release it to my girlfriend at the time and to my family and to everyone around me,” Granda stated. “So he always held that over my head, and he said, ‘Look, listen, just be a good soldier and just hang in there, and once the lawsuit is settled, I’ll buy your equity stake.’”

Granda claimed Falwell promised to give him a cut of a youth hostel project that they invested in once an ongoing lawsuit was over. Although Granada continued to try to pull away from the couple, he said Falwell convinced him not to end the affair.

“He would make me feel guilty for trying to back away from Becki or the LLC, it was just this constant pattern of making me feel guilty, and making subtle threats, and all I’ve wanted was just to walk away,” he said.

Once the lawsuit went public and articles about the affair were first published in 2019, Falwell instructed Granda to lie to the press and deny the affair. However, once the lawsuit was settled, Granda claimed Falwell “walked back on that promise of purchasing my equity state in the LLC.”

Ultimately, Granda believed Falwell and his wife targeted him at a young age, and then “trapped” him in the affair. “They promised me things, and they trapped me into this business, he secretly recorded me, he was hanging it over my head,” he stated.

All the while, Granda said that the couple was getting what they wanted as he waited for what he was promised. Granda believes the couple exhibited “predatory behavior” and should be held accountable for their actions.
