'Jersey Shore' Star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Teams Up With New Jersey For Coronavirus PSA
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is doing his part to help out amid the coronavirus outbreak by assisting his home state of New Jersey.
The "Jersey Shore" star worked with the state to create a public service announcement that would hopefully get through to residents the seriousness of the situation and how important it is to follow the guidelines that have been set in place, including social distancing.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, Mike opened up about the experience and why he felt it was necessary to lend a helping hand.
"We answered the call, and I'm very grateful to be a part of such a positive message," he shared. "We really wanted to be a part of using our platform to help people spread awareness about flattening this curve -- staying home, and if you have to go out, to be smart and practice social distancing."

"We did a little video for the government and they put it up, and I was very excited to be a part of it. It's a really good story," he added.
Mike posted the video to his Instagram account, which boasts over two million followers, on Tuesday.
"COVID-19 is a serious situation! Let’s flatten the curve together and stay home! The comeback is always greater than the setback," he captioned the post. "Stay safe everyone."
As for how his "Jersey Shore" roommates -- Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio, Jenni "JWOWW" Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Angelina Pivarnick, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Deena Nicole Cortese -- are doing, Mike shared that they all keep in touch via group chat.
"We talk pretty much every single day about every single thing," he revealed.
"In that group chat, there's articles about everything from social distancing to the guidelines to what the president said. So, we're on top of everything," the reality star said. "Maybe one day we'll try to make it public, but for right now it's something that I can enjoy during this quarantine situation."
Another aspect of the quarantine situation he's enjoying is being with his wife, Lauren.
"I would just suggest if anybody was listening, 'Happy wife is a happy life!'" Mike joked.
"Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
