Is Jessa Duggar Seewald Having Twins? Find Out What She Had To Say About The Pregnancy Rumors
There is only one baby joining the Duggar crew this November. Jessa (Duggar) Seewald is, once again, putting the rumor that she’s expecting twins to rest.
The former “19 Kids and Counting” star discussed her pregnancy during an appearance at the Southern Women’s Show event in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Aug. 29, reports the Duggar Family Blog. According to the site, Jessa Seewald, 22, denied ongoing rumors she is expecting twins during a fan Q&A. “Jessa put the rumors to rest, saying they could only see one baby in the ultrasound,” one show attendee told the site.
Rumors that Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald were expecting twins started after the couple hinted they may be welcoming more than one child to their young brood in their pregnancy announcement video in April. In the video Jessa and Ben Seewald make two smoothies.
“You know, pretty soon we’ll be making another little smoothie,” Jessa Seewald tells her husband, to which he responds, "Yup, maybe more than one.”
The pregnant reality star’s mom later spoke out about the twin speculation, saying she feels she was responsible for adding fuel to the multiples rumor. “I think maybe Mom, Grandma here, started that rumors,” Michelle Duggar told KGUN 9’s “The Morning Blend" in May. “I said to Jessa when she let us know that they were expecting, we were so thrilled, I said, 'Who knows, Jessa? You may have twins!'”
Michelle Duggar, who has welcomed two sets of twins in her lifetime, explained that multiples are common in her family. “In our family, twins kind of run in the maternal line,” she said. “Surely somewhere along the way one of the girls will possibly have twins.”
This isn’t the first time Jessa Seewald has shot down the twin rumors. On April 26, she posted a photo from her 13-week ultrasound which showed she was only carrying one child. “#BabySeewald is going!” she captioned the image. “Already so in love with this little person!”
Jessa and Ben Seewald are due to welcome their firstborn on Nov. 1, which is also their one-year wedding anniversary. The couple has decided not to share the gender of their child until he/she is born.
