Jessica Simpson 'Didn't Care' About John Mayer, Perez Hilton Kiss, Source Says

Perez Hilton made some shocking revelations and shared details about some of his encounters with celebrities in his new memoir, including his 2007 kiss with John Mayer. And Jessica Simpson, Mayer's then-girlfriend, had no problem with the lip-lock at the time, a report said.

Celebrity blogger Hilton went into detail about his kiss with Mayer over a decade ago in “TMI: My Life In Scandal,” which dropped Tuesday. In his memoir, he revealed that Simpson had been present when they locked lips at a New York nightclub.

Page Six reported, citing an unnamed “old pal” of Simpson, that insiders had been shocked by Mayer and Hilton's kiss because Simpson had been at odds with the gossip blogger during that time.

Hilton repeatedly called Simpson “Jessica Simpleton” and referred to her sister Ashlee as “A--lee” on his controversial namesake blog. But despite their conflict, Simpson had let his smooch with her then-boyfriend slide, the insider claimed.

“Her friends were horrified but she didn’t care. John couldn’t do anything wrong, as far as she was concerned. She was absolutely head-over-heels in love with him,” the unnamed source told the outlet.

A rep for Simpson declined Page Six's request for comment, while a rep for Mayer did not respond to the outlet's request.

Hilton revealed in his book that the lip-lock happened after he finished hosting MTV's New Year's Eve special with Christina Aguilera in 2007 and headed to a club, where they saw Simpson and Mayer.

As the four of them sat in the VIP area, Mayer leaned toward him and said, “I like to watch gay porn, you know,” Hilton wrote. Mayer then kissed Hilton, who was surprised but eventually played along.

The gossip writer claimed that Simpson appeared embarrassed when Mayer kissed him and covered her face with her hair.

Meanwhile, Mayer previously addressed the kiss in a 2010 interview with Playboy, where the details he shared were in line with Hilton's story.

As for why the singer decided to kiss Hilton, he claimed that he wanted to “outgay this guy right now.” Mayer then admitted that he felt “a little ashamed” after the incident.
