Rumors about the name of Jessica Simpson's unborn baby are swirling around as she is nearing her due date. The fashionista is now due to give birth April 20, three weeks earlier than the original due date.

Simpson has already revealed the gender of her child as she, and has widely spoken about her plans to give her little one a very non-traditional name.

Well, if the latest buzz is to be believed, the Fashion Star mentor and the father of the child have finally decided to call her Maxwell, and apparently the to-be-born little Maxi liking the name as she kicks on being called by her name.

They tossed around a lot of names, including some wacky ones like Zinfandel, but couldn't agree on anything, a so-called friend disclosed the name to In Touch magazine, who also revealed that She (Jessica) has gained so much weight and the baby is so big that doctors pushed up the (delivery) date.

Jessica and Eric are going to call their baby Maxwell, Maxi for short, source said. Maxwell is Eric's middle name and also his grandmother's maiden name. Jessica wanted a name with meaning.

Nevertheless, the starlet is also seen wearing a diamond pendant with letter M to celebrate their bundle of joy and both Jessica and Eric are so eager to meet Maxwell! said the source.

We've been calling her (baby girl) by her name... and she reacts to it, Simpson revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

''We're not really saying it (openly) until the baby is here, she said. ''I could be one of those psycho moms that just thinks one little kick is her really listing to me. She's really like, 'Shut up!'''

The 31-year-old star is expecting her first child with fiancé B-list athlete Eric Johnson whom she is dating since May 2010. The couple recently announced that they have chosen the name of their to-be-daughter and it is simple yet meaningful.

We're sure on the name. It's nothing shocking and nothing you'll have to add to the dictionary. Still, when people hear it, they'll know ... why, she told Elle magazine.

It is certainly the best time in her life, both personally and professionally. Simpson's popularity skyrocketed in past few months thanks to her much-touted pregnancy and her nude Elle cover.

Also, the actress has openly talked about her cravings and unstoppable sexual desires in recent interviews and is fervently waiting to take the baby in her arms and not in the belly, anymore.

The oh-so-fashionable designer was otherwise spotted proudly sporting her huge baby bump at several occasions in past few weeks, one of them being her baby showers on Sunday.

Well, Simpson is being a very apprehensive and traditional mom. She is easily giving in to all her cravings, be it cheesecake or slutty brownies, but fears if her daughter turns out to be athletic like her father.

I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!== she said. Eric is so athletic. We're gonna have this athletic girl and I won't even be able to take her shopping.

Already in her third trimester, Simpson is set to deliver anytime soon now. ''I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things, she revealed in an interview.

''It's like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I'm prepared. It's scary. It's like, 'Oh God, this can happen right now'.
